Sobre Junior Vieira
Born in the state of Maranhão and living in Rio de Janeiro, Junior Vieira was one of the writers for the comedy channel Parafernalha in 2013, with videos that reached over 40 billion views. He also collaborated with the scripts for the show “A Toca”, the first Brazilian series to be aired on Netflix. Junior devised and directed the “Quero Ser Feliz” campaign that opened the cultural human rights programming at the UN General Assembly, in New York, and won as best web advertising at the Rio Web Fest. Thanks to the buzz generated by that project, he was invited by Globo network to develop and direct their “Respect” campaigns and the “Negritudes” web series. In 2022 Junior helmed the “Negritude 22” project, the biggest Latin American diversity event, broadcasted by Globoplay, while also co-directing with Tino Seghal the “These Associations” project, winner of a Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. He is currently developing a feature film for HBO, to be produced by Oscar-nominated director Fernando Meirelles.
